Actually, I handle all communication through this direct messaging tool because it helps keep all communication and scheduling logistics organized in one centralized location. Also, GoPeer recommends that all communication stays through the GoPeer platform. Here's an article from GoPeer on how you can update your Notification Preferences. If you update your notification preferences and verify your phone number, you will be able to read and respond to my messages as a normal text message (this is a really nice feature that GoPeer offers).

Your personal phone number and email will NEVER be shared. We use Masked Phone Numbers to anonymize communication between multiple parties and hide participant phone numbers. Instead of dialing directly from phone to phone, users communicate via a third ('proxy') anonymized phone number that forwards a text message to the eventual destination. Your personal information is never shared.
We recommend keeping your SMS notifications on because it allows you to receive and respond to new messages as a secure text message (this makes communication significantly easier because you can send messages without going to the website).
Simply visit your Notification Settings to change your notification preferences.
