How does the cancellation policy work?

We have a 12 hour cancellation policy for lessons.

Tutor's value their time as much as you value yours. Thus, the following Cancellation and No Show policies are in place:

Cancellation Policy

  • All cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to our scheduled lessons (via GoPeer’s messaging and booking system). If a cancellation occurs 12 or more hours before the lesson’s start time, you will not be charged any cancellation fees.

  • Any cancellations that are made between 0 and 12 hours in advance will be charged 100% of the lesson’s cost.

  • If a student does not show up within 15 minutes of the lesson’s start, the lesson will be considered canceled and will thus be charged in full.

How to cancel or reschedule

We recommend agreeing to reschedule instead of canceling sessions whenever possible - you can do that at any time before the session start time.

*If a student wishes to cancel a scheduled lesson, they must do so 12-hours BEFORE the lesson start time via the GoPeer website. Doing this will result in no charge on your card or loss of credit.

As a parent, student, or tutor, you are able to “cancel", "discard", or “reschedule” lessons at any time 12 hours prior to the session start time, directly through the website. You can easily do this from your "Chat Messages" section and from your "Calendar" via a mobile device or computer. However, we recommend using a COMPUTER as it will be much easier to navigate the website.

Student no show

Tutors will always wait for at least 15-minutes in the online lesson space. If the student has not joined the lesson by that time, tutors reserve the right to consider the lesson to be a 'no-show' and up to 100% of the lesson fee will be charged.

Extenuating circumstances

If there are any extenuating circumstances (family emergency etc.), GoPeer will take them into consideration when assessing cancellation fees.

Tutor Lesson Commitment

GoPeer respects your time, and as such, GoPeer Tutors will make every effort to adhere to the scheduled time.

If a tutor has to cancel a lesson, they will send a message through the GoPeer messaging system, cancel the session via the website, and you will not be charged.

If a GoPeer Tutor is late or absent for a lesson, you will get 100% credit for the lesson to compensate for your time.
