TEMPLATE - Use to offer a free 15-minute introductory meeting

Hi there, thank you for reaching out! Teaching is something that I genuinely enjoy, so I would be happy to help. I personalize my lessons to meet each student's needs, as we all have different ways of processing knowledge. To do this, I typically schedule a free 15-minute introductory meeting to get to know each other. We can video conference and meet face-to-face in GoPeer's secured online classroom. This will allow you to see first-hand how our tutoring sessions work and how easy and fun online lessons can be. It also allows us to discuss your specific learning needs and goals.

It sounds like this may be a great fit! Would you like to set up a free 15-minute introductory meeting?

✅ Turn your free intro meeting setting ON via the Profile section of your Settings.

🤔💰 Why should I do this if I do NOT get paid for the 15-minute intro meeting?

🤩 This feature helps you. You rank higher in the search and recommendation results. Ultimately, you will earn more since you will get more students!

⚡️It will also save you time! Rather than having all the back and forth via chat messaging, you can quickly set up a free introductory session to discuss the lesson details.

*Free intro meetings are booked in precisely the same way a regular session is booked. As the tutor, you should always send the session request to your student.

ADDITIONAL TEMPLATE - Three sections to a detailed first response

Part 1 - Introduce yourself

Hi Sammy, thank you for reaching out! My name is Jill, and I am a junior at UC Berkeley studying Computer Science and Mathematics. I love learning and sharing that passion with my students.

Part 2 - Share your experience. It's your time to shine!

I started tutoring in high school and found a passion for helping other students find that “Aha!” moment during a lesson. I have worked formally with students in AP Biology, Precalculus, and AP Chemistry classes for the past two years. In addition, I tutor advanced English for international students/English Language Learners.

I believe that seeking a tutor is an important step in learning since the material might not “click” all of the time. There is nothing wrong with asking for help, and, indeed, I believe that inquiry is the root of all learning.

I personalize my lessons to each student because each student is unique! We all have different ways of processing knowledge. More importantly, I try my best to make learning fun. I have always enjoyed studying, and I aspire to share the same learning attitude with all my students. In our time together, I want students to grow in their knowledge AND their confidence.

Outside of the classroom, I love to ski, rock climb, listen to music, work with ceramics, and volunteer with local nonprofit organizations. I love learning and helping people discover their talents inside and outside of the classroom!

Part 3 - End with a question:

If possible, could you share more specifics about your learning goals? Is there a specific topic on which you would like to focus? If you have any worksheets or assignments from your teacher, I would love to look at them before our first session to decide how best to help. Thank you again for reaching out, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
